A review relating to Del Sol Press

Del Sol Press seeks to publish exceptional work by both new and recognized writers, and even republish literary works that people consider extremely significant and that have gone through print. Our emphasis is on original, unique, and accessible work WITH AN EDGE, although our approach is eclectic. Consequently, we eschew noncommunicative forms (language poetry rip-offs, Finnegan's Wake imitations, and the like) and genre fiction (unless exceptional).

 

This Del Sol Press contest is open to "all authors writing in English despite nationality or residence, and is available for published and unpublished authors alike." Genres included in the competition are literary and upmarket fiction, mainstream or general fiction, mystery/thriller or speculative fiction by using a literary edge, serious women's fiction, and unique experimental work. Finalist manuscripts is likewise considered for publication. The first place winner receives a $1,500 honorarium and book publication by Del Sol Press in fall 2016 (plus 20 copies). Second and third place winners receive free tuition to your Algonkian Ny Pitch Conference where they are able to pitch their novels to editors inside the commercial publishing business.
